Ravens-Jets blockbuster trade prediction gives Justin Fields new million weapon

This offseason has been a busy one for the New York Jets, who have turned over their front office and coaching staff while also making big changes to their roster with the hope of finishing with a better record than 5-12 in 2025.

One of the biggest changes to the product on the field in the upcoming year will be new quarterback Justin Fields under center, after he spent 2024 with the Pittsburgh Steelers and looked solid in his limited playing time.

While Fields isn’t as talented as Aaron Rodgers, who New York started for 17 games last year, he could do some different things to make them more successful in today’s NFL, including using his legs.

If New York want to capitalize on their two-year, $40 million investment and Fields to be the best version of himself in 2025, they may want to consider surrounding him with more weapons.

NFL.com’s Brooke Cersosimo recently urged the Jets to trade for veteran tight end Mark Andrews, and that could be just what Fields needs to run an explosive offense.

Andrews, 29, was a three-time All-Big 12 tight end and John Mackey Award winner at Oklahoma before the Baltimore Ravens took him in the third round (No. 86) overall of the 2018 NFL draft.

In his seven professional seasons, Andrews his caught 436 passes for 5,530 yards and a franchise-record 51 touchdowns. He’s also made three pro Bowl and earned All-Pro honors once.

It’s been quite some time since New York had a true impact tight end. In fact, no Jets tight end has recorded more than 650 yards in a season since Dustin Keller finished with 815 in 2011. Andrews has averaged 904 yards per 17 games, and he’s finished with over 650 in five of his seven year sin the NFL.

Adding Andrews to an offense that also features two explosive weapons in Garrett Wilson and Breece Hall would make the game much simpler for Fields, giving the Jets a better chance of ending the longest playoff drought in the league.
