Champions League giants ‘make contact with Rasmus Hojlund over transfer with Man Utd ready to cut losses on £72m flop’

RASMUS HOJLUND has reportedly been contacted by Inter Milan over a move away from Old Trafford.

Manchester United are ready to cut their losses on the Norweigian striker who has struggled since his £72million switch from Atalanta.

Hojlund, 22, has struggled for consistent form since arriving in the Premier League.

He has only managed 26 goals in 95 appearances for the Red Devils in all competitions.

The flop has been tipped with a return to Italy, with the likes of Juventus and Napoli monitoring him.

However, Champions League finalists Inter have “made contact” with Hojlund’s camp over a deal.

The Daily Mail have claimed that the San Siro-based club are keen to know his price tag from Man United this week.

It is also suggested that the Red Devils could offer the forward out on a “cut-price fee”.

Inter Milan had previously been tipped with moves for both Hojlund and Joshua Zirkzee.

Zirkzee, 24, only moved to Old Trafford last summer after also excelling in Serie A at Bologna.

The Dutchman netted seven times in his debut year with the Red Devils despite appearing in 49 matches.

Meanwhile, Man United have already bolstered their own attack with the £62.5m arrival of Matheus Cunha.

The Brazilian is the club’s first signing of summer, having penned a five-year deal with the option to extend for another 12 months.

He has become the club’s fourth highest earner with a £200,000-a-week contract.

The Red Devils have also been boosted in their pursuit of Brentford star Bryan Mbeumo.

The forward is believed to prefer a move to Ruben Amorim’s team over Arsenal.

The Cameroon international hot property after scoring 20 Premier League goals this season, while notching eight assists.

The club could also keep hold of captain Bruno Fernandes after he rejected a deal worth £200m to move to Saudi Arabia.
