Ogier adds Acropolis to 2025 WRC schedule

Ogier adds Acropolis to 2025 WRC schedule

Sebastien Ogier has been included on a 12-car Rally1 entry list for the Acropolis Rally Greece round of the World Rally Championship next month.

The eight-time world champion has been confirmed on the entry list for the gravel rally (26-29 June) that will mark the Toyota driver’s fifth start of a partial WRC campaign.

Ogier will join Toyota’s full-time line-up of championship leader Elfyn Evans, Kalle Rovanpera, Takamoto Katsuta and Sami Pajari.

Hyundai will field a trio of i20 N Rally1 cars for Thierry Neuville, Ott Tanak and Adrien Fourmaux, while M-Sport-Ford will run four Pumas as privateer Jourdan Serderidis joins Gregoire Munster, Josh McErlean and Martins Sesks.

The event will also feature 34 WRC2 entries, including the championship’s current top three, Yohan Rossel, Oliver Solberg and Gus Greensmith.

Ogier’s inclusion on the Acropolis entry list will see the Frenchman contest three consecutive rallies having tasted victory last time out in Portugal, ahead of next week’s gravel round in Sardinia.

Ogier heads to Sardinia sitting third in the championship, 32 points off Evans. The 41-year-old has tasted victory four times in Sardinia and narrowly missed out on securing a fifth last year after losing out to Hyundai’s Ott Tanak by 0.2s.

“Our victory in Portugal is good motivation to keep working hard with the team in this busy period of rallies because we know that we can still improve. Sardinia has always been a difficult challenge, one that it took me some years to master,” said Ogier.

“This year it can be even tougher for our team because we have the top three drivers in the championship and we will have the biggest job to sweep the road for our rivals on Friday.

“But I have good memories from our win in 2021 from first on the road and we know well that it’s a rally where anything can happen.”
