Packers send Jaire Alexander to lousy NFC team in trade proposal

The Green Bay Packers can’t worry too much about what they do with Jaire Alexander.

If the team wants to move on from him, they need to get the best package in return.

The Packers are entering a Super Bowl window with Jordan Love expected to improve, which he’s already shown throughout the first few years of being a starting quarterback at the NFL level.

If Love continues to do what he’s done and develops how it looks he will, the Packers should be one of the better teams in the NFL for the next decade plus.

Having assets is important, and that’s why they can’t be too worried about where Alexander lands.

Alexander will have to deal with wherever he ends up.

In a proposed trade idea from Moe Moton of Bleacher Report, the Packers would move him to the Carolina Panthers, a team he likely doesn’t want to play for.

“Carolina can take a big swing to bolster its historically bad defense from a year ago. Yes, the Panthers signed safety Tre’von Moehrig, edge-rusher Patrick Jones II, defensive end Tershawn Wharton and nose tackle Bobby Brown III, but they should still bring in a proven veteran to upgrade at cornerback. Remember, Michael Jackson allowed six touchdowns and a 106.5 passer rating in coverage last season.

“Alexander has been sidelined for more than half of the previous two terms because of injuries, but when healthy, he’s a Pro Bowl-caliber player,” he wrote.

Alexander’s injury history is a bit concerning, appearing in just 14 games over the past two seasons and four in the 2021 campaign.

However, the last two times he’s been healthy, he’s been named to the All-Pro team and was a Pro Bowler.

For a Carolina team looking to drastically improve, taking a chance on him would be a wise decision if they believe they’ll be better soon.
