Giants could land former Bills 0 million star in bombshell move

The New York Giants defense will rely heavily on an improved front line in 2025.

With Brian Burns and Kayvon Thibodeaux set to reprise their roles as the starting edge rushers, the Giants made the wise decision to take the best player available at No. 3 overall in the NFL Draft.

That led to New York adding more depth to the edge rusher room when they selected Penn State star Abdul Carter.

Even with a fantastic trio rotating on the edge of Shane Bowen’s defensive line, Anthony Palacios of Last Word on Sports urged the Giants to go after future Hall of Fame pass-rusher and three-time All-Pro Von Miller, who was released by the Buffalo Bills in March.

“Other than Burns, the Giants are getting younger, and Thibodeaux has reportedly been on the trade block. If the Giants decide to move on from him, the Von Miller signing would just make perfect sense to be a part of this team to bolster the defensive experience,” Palacios wrote.

Even though Miller is coming off a six-year deal worth $120 million with the Bills, it’s highly unlikely he will command a contract anywhere near that amount.

The eight-time Pro Bowl selection appeared in 13 games with the Bills in 2024, registering 6.0 sacks, eight quarterback hits and seven tackles for loss. His 17.6% pass-rush win rate ranked 10th among all NFL edge rushers with at least 115 pass-rush snaps, per Pro Football Focus.

What Miller would command on the market remains to be seen, but the Giants have just over $1 million in salary-cap space following the draft so some restructures need to be made.

Either way, the addition of Miller would give the Giants an incredible quartet of edge rushers to combat playing in a division with star-studded quarterbacks.
