The Miami Dolphins are still trying to figure out what their roster will look like heading into the new season. There has been no movement yet involving Tyreek Hill or Jalen Ramsey. While Hill’s situation remains uncertain, Ramsey is almost certainly expected to be traded at some point.
The uncertainty surrounding the roster has led some to argue that the Dolphins shouldn’t be granted as many primetime games as they had last season. Miami finished with a losing record, and with the potential loss of two key players, some believe the team is headed in a similar direction this year.
“An uneven roster could take additional hit with the expected trade of cornerback Jalen Ramsey, and Tyreek Hill’s discontent doesn’t augur well for a group that continues to put more on Tua Tagovailoa’s shoulders. Maybe a few early-season spotlight games would be reasonable for Miami, but an outfit with this little staying power shouldn’t sniff the five prime-time matchups it was granted last spring,” Middlehurst-Schwartz wrote.
Hill recently found himself at the center of another controversy—though this time, it wasn’t his fault. In the Colts’ schedule release video, Hill was portrayed as getting arrested. However, he didn’t take offense to the skit.
“He laughed about it and didn’t think they needed to take it down on his account,” Drew Rosenhaus told ESPN.
In Week 8, the Dolphins are scheduled to visit the Atlanta Falcons. If both starting quarterbacks remain healthy, fans could witness a rare occurrence—something the NFL hasn’t seen in nearly two decades.
