Miami Dolphins international date, opponent reportedly revealed ahead of full schedule release

Miami Dolphins international date, opponent reportedly revealed ahead of full schedule release

It was announced back in January that the Miami Dolphins would host the NFL’s first-ever regular season game in Madrid, Spain, at the iconic Santiago Bernabéu Stadium.

Now, according to a reported schedule leak, the date and opponent have been revealed.

The Dolphins will host the Washington Commanders on November 16 in a Week 11 matchup. However, this has not been confirmed by either team or the NFL.

“This partnership with the NFL will bring one of the world’s most prestigious sporting competitions to the Santiago Bernabéu, a stadium which has welcomed millions of passionate fans from around the globe to enjoy incredible sporting experiences,” said Real Madrid institutional relations director Emilio Butragueño, per ESPN.

Should this leak be true, it will mark the Dolphins’ eighth international game in franchise history. They hold a 2–5 record in such contests but have lost four straight. Their most recent appearance came during the 2023 season in Frankfurt, Germany, where they fell to the Kansas City Chiefs, 21–14. Miami has also played five times in London and once in Toronto.

Needless to say, the Dolphins will be hoping to reverse their international misfortunes in mid-November — a time when playoff positioning could be on the line. Their opponent, the Commanders, are coming off a surprise run to the NFC Championship Game last season and could pose a serious challenge.

Miami finished 8–9 in 2024, missing the playoffs for the first time under head coach Mike McDaniel.
