The NFL Draft is over, and there’s a lot to unpack after a wild three days in Green Bay. The biggest storyline is Shedeur Sanders, who went from being a projected top-3 pick by the New York Giants to slipping all the way to the fifth round, where he was selected by the Cleveland Browns. The exact reason for his fall is still unclear, but there are several rumors circulating.
One rumor suggests that Deion Sanders may have overplayed his hand, a move that many NFL teams didn’t appreciate. Another theory is that Sanders struggled in the interviews he participated in. However, a report revealed that the Giants passed on Sanders due to a dispute with head coach Brian Daboll.
“He ‘didn’t have a great interview’ with HC Brian Daboll. The ‘preparation wasn’t there’ for an install package, Daboll called him out, and Sanders didn’t like that,” Todd McShay reported.
This misstep caused Sanders to miss out on a potential $45 million contract. On the other hand, his best friend, Cam Ward, was selected as the first overall pick by the Tennessee Titans. Every player the Titans picked after Ward received a phone call from him, demonstrating the kind of teammate he is.
“I can just tell he’s a great leader,” Gunnar Helm said. “He called me when I was on the phone with them. I couldn’t answer. Then he texted me right away.”
Ward is a highly talented quarterback, and he’s expected to have an outstanding year in Nashville. He’s already generating a lot of hype, with many considering him the favorite to win Rookie of the Year.

“Yes, there was no stretch required to make this choice. The No. 1 pick is a natural front-runner for an award that typically goes to quarterbacks whenever one is worthy of it. Ward’s attacking approach should be on full display early on,” Michael Middlehurst-Schwartz wrote.
Ward was selected first for a reason, and if he lives up to the immense hype, Tennessee could have their quarterback for the next 10 years or more.
