NFL Draft prospects 2025: Ranking the top 10 tight ends, from Tyler Warren to Mitchell Evans

The tight end class in the 2025 NFL Draft has some exceptional receiving talents to help further reload the young wave of new stars at the position, starting with two first-round prospects.

Despite this being a top-heavy class, there are still several prospects throughout all seven rounds who could pay off in the near future.

Here’s looking at the 10 best TEs who all should be selected from April 24-26.

NFL Draft prospects 2025: The top 10 tight ends

1. Tyler Warren, Penn State (6-5, 256 pounds)

Warren has the ideal size and strength for the position, and he’s the prototypical freakish athlete with his hybrid wide receiver-like versatility. He can line up anywhere to create physical mismatches, and he’s a special offensive weapon and game-changer in the Brock Bowers vein.

Draft projection: Early first round to mid first round

2. Colston Loveland, Michigan (6-5, 248 pounds)

Loveland doesn’t quite have the same unique athleticism as his former Big Ten rival Warren, but he’s the traditional strong receiving target for the position in the Trey McBride mold, given he also is a key asset inline as a blocker. He may not be as quick to make a receiving impact as Warren, but he can be a long-term reliable starter.

Draft projection: Mid first round to late first round

3. Elijah Arroyo, Miami (6-5, 245 pounds)

Arroyo got more notice when he stood out with his all-around receiving through the red zone at the Senior Bowl. He has soft hands, and although he’s not as athletic as Warren and Loveland, he has an innate knack of how to get open in key situations.

Draft projection: Second round to early third round

4. Mason Taylor, LSU (6-5, 251 pounds)

Taylor is a versatile athlete who can be effective getting open as a short-to-intermediate safety valve, and he has some untapped upside for down-seam big plays. He also has a great pedigree as the son of one Dolphins defensive legend (Jason Taylor) and the nephew of another (Zach Thomas).

Draft projection: Late second round to early third round

5. Harold Fannin Jr., Bowling Green (6-3, 241 pounds)

Fannin has shot up and then cooled off in the pre-draft process. Although he has proven to be a dynamic receiver, there are some concerns about how he’ll hold up as a blocker inside, with some saying he should be more in a “move” situation where he can get in the open field more easily.

Draft projection: Third round

6. Gunnar Helm, Texas (6-5, 241 pounds)

Helm is a bit of a throwback tight end as a blocker and receiver. He can be an effective starter with regular offensive snaps in time, but he would be best served being groomed to continue to develop his strengths.

Draft projection: Third round to fourth round

7. Terrance Ferguson, Oregon (6-5, 247 pounds)

Ferguson has gotten more on the radar for his own brand of athletic receiving, making him an intriguing sleeper to consider for teams at the end of Day 2. His biggest asset is what he can do after the catch with his quickness vs. his route-running to get open.

Draft projection: Third round to fourth round

8. Oronde Gadsden II, Syracuse (6-5, 243 pounds)

Gadsden has some good genes, as his namesake father was a decent wide receiver for the Dolphins. The son matches his big frame with reliable hands to work as a short-to-intermediate target, but his blocking still needs work.

Draft projection: Fourth round

9. Jake Briningstool, Clemson (6-6, 241 pounds)

Briningstool has gotten more attention for his flashes of athletic playmaking that can develop into something bigger in the NFL if he can consistently put the two assets together as a receiver.

Draft projection: Fourth round

10. Mitchell Evans, Notre Dame (6-5, 258 pounds)

Evans would get drafted for his blocking first and his receiving second, as his capped athleticism says he will be more of a good-hands, short-area target. He would be best as a backup to a more dynamic receiver.

Draft projection: Fifth round
