The San Francisco 49ers hold the 11th pick in the NFL Draft. The 49ers have immediate needs but could trade the pick to a team wanting to move up, adding extra picks in the process.
The 49ers lost Talanoa Hufanga, Deebo Samuel, Aaron Banks, Dre Greenlaw, Deebo Samuel and many more key players this offseason. They have 11 draft picks in total as they try to replace all the talent they lost, but could use some more premium picks. They could be open to trading back to the No.23 overall pick through a trade with the Green Bay Packers.
Packers general manager Brian Gutekunst was the only general manager present at the private workout for Tetairoa McMillan, according to ESPN’s Jordan Reid. It is highly unlikely that McMillan will fall to the Packers at No.23 so they would have to trade up to land him. The 11th pick could be a sweet spot for them to move up to.
If McMillan falls to No.11 the 49ers may not be looking to take him, with Brandon Aiyuk, Ricky Pearsall and Jauan Jenning already in house. However, the Dallas Cowboys could take him at No.12 as they look to find an elite pass catcher to pair with CeeDee Lamb. If McMillan slides out of the top ten, the Packers could offer the 49ers this package to swap picks.
- 49ers receive: No.23 overall pick and No.54 overall pick
- Packers receive: No.11 overall pick
The 49ers would add an extra pick in the top 100 that they could use to expedite reloading their roster. Meanwhile, the Packers would be able to move up and add a player they are spending significant time scouting.
