Panthers projected to land electrifying weapon for Bryce Young

Panthers projected to land electrifying weapon for Bryce Young

The Carolina Panthers finally saw signs of life from former No. 1 overall pick Bryce Young during the 2024 NFL season. While Young still has a lot of work to do in order to become the clear-cut franchise face that the Panthers drafted him to be, there is optimism surrounding him heading into year three.

Young finished the 2024 season with 2,403 passing yards to go along with 15 touchdowns, nine interceptions, and a 60.9 percent completion percentage in 14 games.

Heading into the 2025 NFL Draft, could Carolina look to add another dynamic weapon for him?

Right now, the Panthers have Adam Thielen, Xavier Legette, and Jalen Coker as their top three wide receivers on the depth chart. All three of those playes are quality targes for Young, but Carolina could add more speed.

With that in mind, Pro Football Network has projected the Panthers to add elite speed in the second round of the 2025 draft.

At No. 57 overall, they have Carolina bringing in Texas Longhorns’ wide receiver Isaiah Bond.

“Isaiah Bond has the potential to be a No. 1 receiver at a bargain price. He has the pedigree of playing at Alabama and Texas, demonstrating his upside, but getting him to play to that level consistently will be the challenge. If Dave Canales and his coaches can, then there is a true long-term No. 1 caliber player to be unlocked.”

During the NFL Draft Combine, Bond ended up running a 4.39 time in the 40-yard dash. His speed would add another element to the Panthers’ offense.

Bond missed some time due to injury throughout the 2024 college football season with Texas. He didn’t end up having the impact that was expected from him at the beginning of the year.

He totaled 34 receptions for 540 yards and five touchdowns. Those numbers average out to an impressive 15.9 yards per reception.

If Bond happens to be available at No. 57 overall when Carolina is on the clock, the Panthers should strongly consider bringing him in and giving Young an elite playmaker.
