The NHL trade deadline continues to heat up, as the Islanders and Avalanche agreed to a blockbuster deal on Thursday night.
New York is trading 33-year-old center Brock Nelson, who is in the final year of a six-year, $36 million dollar contract, to Colorado, according to multiple reports. Nelson has spent his entire career with the Islanders and is one of the longest-tenured players on the team.
In return, the Avs are sending New York defenseman Oliver Kylington, forward Calum Ritchie, a 2026 first-round pick, and a 2028 conditional third-round pick. Here are the full trade details for this blockbuster.

Nelson, who was named an All-Star in 2023, moves from New York to Colorado, per multiple reports.
The 33-year-old center is making $6 million this season. He was reportedly in talks with the Islanders about an extension before the deadline, but, those discussions now appear to have dissipated, resulting in New York dealing Nelson to the Avalanche.
