The Denver Broncos had arguably the worst tight end situation in the NFL last season. The trio of Adam Trautman, Lucas Krull and Nate Adkins were pedestrian at best, leaving a spot the team must upgrade this offseason.
One of the players the team brought in last season, Donald Parham, stirred up some excitement. But the Broncos stashed him on the practice squad and never used him. Despite not getting much out of the position, there was never a call to give him a shot on the active roster.
It’s hard to determine what the Broncos were doing with the Parham signing after the Los Angeles Chargers released him following the preseason, but whatever it was, it never materialized. After the wasted season, Parham has signed with a new team for the 2025 season.
On Friday, the Pittsburgh Steelers agreed to terms with Parham on a one-year deal. The signing will become official when the new league year begins on March 12. Parham was available for any team to sign ahead of free agency because the Broncos chose not to re-sign him to a future contract following the season.

In Pittsburgh, there could be a great opportunity for the 6-foot-8 Parham as the Steelers have only Pat Freiermuth and Darnell Washington under contract.
After going undrafted in 2019, Parham had short stints in Detroit and Washington before reviving his career in the XFL with the Arlington Renegades. He was able to parlay that into a contract with the Chargers, where he spent four seasons.
For his career, Parham has 67 receptions for 764 yards and 11 touchdowns. He could develop into a solid red-zone option for the Steelers.
The Broncos will be expected to take a tight end early in April’s draft, perhaps in the first round.
