There’s no place like home for revenge. With the IIHF World Juniors right around the corner, Team Canada looks to prove itself after last year’s showing. This time, on home ice in Ottawa.
The Canadians finished fifth last year after a loss to Czechia in the first-round of the knockouts. It was their worst finish since failing to medal in 2019 and came after back-to-back gold medals in 2022 and 2023.
This year brings a new squad to the forefront, though, as new stars have a chance to make an impact for their country in their first World Juniors. Gavin McKenna, a top prospect for the 2026 NHL Draft, will join forces with this year’s picks Easton Cowan, Brayden Yager, Berkly Catton and more.
It won’t come easy as Team Canada will face the USA, Finland, Germany and Latvia in preliminary matchups, but iron sharpens iron, and Canada is as tough as it comes.
