The Las Vegas Raiders won’t have superstar edge rusher Maxx Crosby for the rest of the 2024 campaign after he aggravated an ankle injury a few weeks back.
Crosby was ruled out for the Week 15 game against the Atlanta Falcons, and it was later revealed that he was going to have arthroscopic ankle surgery to fix an injury that has plagued him since early in the year.
After news broke that Crosby was likely done for the year due to his injury, the three-time Pro Bowler confirmed that was the case in a social media post.
“As much as this pains me to write, I will not be playing the rest of the season,” part of Crosby’s statement read. “Second time this year getting rolled up on the same ankle and now it will require surgery. As much as it pains me to not go to war with my brothers and for the fans, I truly believe everything happens for a reason. I have absolutely zero regrets with my process, my approach and my discipline to this game.”
Well, Crosby has since undergone the surgery to repair his ankle issue, and it appears to have been successful. After finishing the procedure, Crosby posted a few photos to social media, with one of them showing him in a wheelchair.
But Crosby added a little extra flavor to one of them, as only Maxx Crosby can.

Now, Crosby will turn his attention to rehab, and then the 2025 campaign, when the Raiders will hopefully land themselves a franchise quarterback that can give this team some hope after what has been a dreadful season.
As was the case around the NFL trade deadline, there will likely be speculation about Crosby leaving Las Vegas during the offseason. However, the Raiders star has made it very clear on several occasions he plans to stay with the team, which shows the kind of loyalty that is rare in professional sports today.
