This is an impressive clip from the second half of a 1966 playoff game between the Boston Celtics and the Cincinnati Royals.
It’s (mostly) in amazing condition, and, aside from the various great Celtics like Bill Russell, John Havlicek, Sam Jones, K.C. Jones, and Satch Sanders, you also get to see vintage Oscar Robertson and Jerry Lucas. Jack Twyman was also on the team, as was Wayne Embry, who would later become a really talented general manager with the Cleveland Cavaliers.
He put together a roster with Brad Daugherty, Mark Price, Craig Ehlo, and others, that was talented enough to give Michael Jordan and the Bulls some trouble.
The Royals, now the Sacramento Kings after a befuddling stop as the Kansas City-Omaha Kings (then just the Kansas City Kings), were always undersized, and Russell-led Boston won this game, to tie the series 2-2.
It was a five-game series, and Boston would ultimately go on to win its eighth straight championship, knocking off the Los Angeles Lakers, 4-3 in the finals.
