The Boston Red Sox stunned the baseball world in April, when the team fired long-time manager Alex Cora and a number of his coaches after a slow start. While the move invited plenty of criticism, it worked.
Under interim manager Chad Tracy, the Red Sox rallied back into contention and have already clinched a playoff spot. Because of that, the team will make Tracy its full-time manager moving forward, it announced. Tracy will get a three-year deal to take on the role.
In addition to that move, the team also announced it picked up two contract options on Chief Baseball Officer Craig Breslow, keeping him under team control through 2030.
