Open Thread: Wemby signs a new deal with Nike

There is a lot going on this off season for Victor Wembanyama. Earlier this week he was in France cutting ribbon on the refurbished Nanterre court. Yesterday it was announced he signed a long-term contract with Nike.

The deal includes a signature shoe line. Nike posted this:

The shoe brand and The Alien have already shared in a fruitful partnership, but this deal is next level. Wembanyama’s deal includes a new signature shoe line.

“We are proud to continue supporting Victor Wembanyama’s journey with Nike,” the company said, via Jared Weiss of The Athletic. “As one of the most unique and influential athletes in the world, Victor is a generational talent who continues to inspire the game’s next generation. We are excited about all that we’ve built together and look forward to more wins ahead.”

With all the accolades accumulating, Wemby should be raring to go into the next season. The opportunity to extend beyond the successes of 2025-2026 has elevated. The enlarged shoe deal just reflects Wemby’s global appeal both on and off the court.
