Tim Bradley Blasts Tyson Fury Ahead Of Mariusz Wach Fight

Tyson Fury’s comeback victory last April did little to impress Tim Bradley. While many praised the former heavyweight champion for shaking off a year of inactivity, the Hall of Famer believes Fury should have produced a far more convincing performance against Arslanbek Makhmudov.

Bradley also wants to see Fury make a stronger statement when he returns Friday against Mariusz Wach before a potential fight with Anthony Joshua. In Bradley’s view, Fury’s unanimous decision over Arslanbek Makhmudov received far more praise than it deserved.

“Obviously, the light at the tunnel is Anthony Joshua. Anthony Joshua got to take care of business, but we got to see Tyson Fury knock this guy out, man. The last time we saw Tyson Fury in the ring, everybody was glazing him. ‘Oh my God, he’s been off for an entire year. Look how beautiful he looked.’ I thought his last performance was trash. He was supposed to starch that guy,” said Bradley to Inside Ring Show.

Max Kellerman viewed Fury’s previous opponent as a tougher assignment than Wach. He also believed the former heavyweight champion benefited from going 12 rounds after such a lengthy absence. Bradley rejected that view, insisting Fury should have delivered a dominant finish against a fighter he viewed as well below Fury’s level.

Fury has little margin for another underwhelming outing. Joshua is also scheduled to fight this weekend, creating the possibility of a British heavyweight clash if both men take care of business. Bradley wants Fury to produce the type of performance expected from one of the era’s most accomplished heavyweights instead of settling for another cautious points victory.
