Ryan Garcia Blasts Shakur Stevenson Over VADA Demands: “They’re Terrified Of Me”

“I would love to fight Ryan Garcia,” said Shakur to Complex News. “The only thing I would say that Bill [Haney] and Devin wanted him to do certain testing outside of camp. I think that’s something that should be mandatory if we fight, too.”

Ryan didn’t take the comments well. He said he’s already been testing year-round and accused Stevenson and the Haneys of clinging to old accusations because they’re scared of what he did to Mario Barrios.

“Is he [Shakur] stupid? I’m so tired of him, bro. I’ve been testing even way before Haney. These guys are delusional,” said Ryan.

“Do you understand how scared and terrified they are of me?” Ryan said. “Every other guy, they don’t claim that on, but guess what? I have been testing. I test all the time. He’s a freaking idiot. Devin Haney’s an idiot. All those guys are idiots.”

Earlier this year, Ryan captured the WBC welterweight title by dropping Barrios in the opening round before controlling the action over 12 rounds to earn a unanimous decision. He believes that performance changed how opponents view him.

“They’ve seen my last performance against Mario Barrios, and all of a sudden I’m doing steroids again,” Garcia said. “Bro, shut the f*** up. I’ve been training since I was seven years old. I’ve been boxing. You guys have seen me since I was coming up the whole time.”

He continued by pointing to his punching power long before he turned professional, arguing there is nothing unusual about his ability to hurt opponents.

“I’ve been hurting people since I was 11, 10. I knocked out a grown man when I was 12. What are you talking about?” Ryan said. “They’re pissing me off because they know they’re lying. They’re bulls***.”

Ryan’s remarks quickly caught Devin Haney’s attention on X, where he questioned Garcia’s denial with a brief response.
