Shane Mosley Sr.: Keyshawn Davis Should Use Ryan Garcia’s Blueprint Against Devin Haney

Mosley was asked where Keyshawn fits into the picture and offered his breakdown of how he sees that fight happening.

Mosley pointed to Garcia’s upset victory over Haney as the type of performance Keyshawn should try to replicate.

“I think that Keyshawn would use the Ryan Garcia method and jump on him. Dev’s going to try him the first two or three rounds, but once that’s not working, he’s on his bicycle and he’s gone.” Mosley said to MillCity Boxing.

“He has to make sure that he’s ready because if he’s not like all the way in, then you know, you got to go with Devin because Devin, you know, he’s going to be ready,” Mosley said.

The former three-division world champion’s father also suggested that Haney and his father, Bill Haney, have developed a reputation for gaining an advantage before the fight even begins.

“They’re really good with their talking and messing with the guy. That’s the fight before the fight,” Mosley said. “That mental warfare. It definitely works.”

Keyshawn, who currently holds the WBO’s #1 position at welterweight, has repeatedly called for the Haney fight since becoming the mandatory challenger. Haney, meanwhile, has continued to talk about wanting to face Shakur next.

The WBO has ordered Haney to face Keyshawn next, while Haney has also publicly discussed a fight with Stevenson. A decision on which direction he takes could determine the immediate future of the division.
