Ryan Garcia Mocks Conor Benn’s Power After Four-Round KO Claim

Ryan Garcia has fired back at Conor Benn after the British contender predicted he would stop the WBC welterweight champion within four rounds.

Benn made the prediction when he was asked how long it would take him to knock out Ryan in their expected September 12 showdown in Las Vegas.

“I got a lot to prove in this fight,” said Benn today at a Zuffa press conference about the Ryan Garcia fight. “For me to answer your question, I’m going to come out fast and put it on him and hopefully get him out there early within four.”

The comments quickly caught Ryan’s attention.

Connor bumm are you seriously thinking you are stopping me and you couldn’t even stop a Regis prograis at the end of his career.

He probably would’ve stopped you if he was younger dummy 😭😭

Ryan’s response referenced Benn’s unanimous decision victory over former WBC light welterweight champion Regis Prograis in April. Although Benn controlled much of the action, he was unable to score a stoppage against the veteran former champion.

The exchange is the latest chapter in the growing rivalry between Garcia and Benn ahead of their anticipated clash later this year. Ryan previously stated during an appearance on The Tonight Show that he expects to face Benn on September 12 in Las Vegas, though an official announcement has yet to be made.

Conor has made no secret of his belief that he can overwhelm Garcia with pressure and aggression. Garcia, meanwhile, appears unconvinced that Benn possesses the power to make good on his knockout prediction.

With both fighters trading shots on social media, the buildup to a potential September showdown is already beginning to heat up.
