ANDY MURRAY will coach Jack Draper at Wimbledon next month.
Britain’s greatest tennis player has agreed to look after Draper, 24, during the Championships in a stunning return to the sport.
Murray – who turns 39 on Friday – had coached 24-time Grand Slam champion Novak Djokovic last year but that only lasted through one major, the 2025 Australian Open.
But while he has been busy on the golf course, he has decided to step back into the tennis world for the grass-court season – and potentially beyond that into the US Open.
The Scotsman, a two-time Wimbledon singles champion, will work in collaboration and in tandem with the LTA.
Murray, a former World No1 and 2012 US Open champion, quit the sport after the Paris 2024 Olympics, having managed to squeeze an extra five years out of his broken body following hip-resurfacing surgery in January 2019.

Draper, 24, who reached fourth in the world in 2025, has decided to split with Jamie Delgado – a former coach of Murray – following an injury-hit spell together.
The world No50 said: “I am very grateful for everything Jamie Delgado has done for me over these past six months. He is a world-class coach and a great man.
“In the interim, I will continue to be supported by the excellent team at the LTA, with the addition of Andy Murray, who will be supporting me throughout the grass court season.”
The Sutton southpaw is out of the French Open with a knee injury – and is a fitness doubt for Wimbledon, having aggravated a tendon in his knee while playing at the Barcelona Open on April 13.
In the final stages of his last 32 clash with Argentine Tomas Martín Etcheverry, while trailing 4-1 in the deciding set, the left-hander retired hurt with the issue.
Having skipped the Madrid Masters and Italian Open, he has now decided to ignore the rest of the clay-court circuit of the calendar.
It was felt that it was not wise to rush straight back into best-of-five-set tennis, particularly on the red dirt, saying it “isn’t the right decision”.
He and his team want to manage his schedule to ensure he does not have any further physical relapses, especially with Wimbledon less than seven weeks’ away.
The target is to play at the Stuttgart Open in the week of June 8, where he won the title in 2024 and was presented with a sponsors’ e-motorbike along with his £95,000 winners’ cheque.
