“Very talented guy, definitely,” Jalolov said to Boxing News about his interest in fighting the unbeaten Moses Itauma. “One of the biggest prospects in heavyweight boxing right now.”

Jalolov (16-0, 14 KOs) said that continued fights in Britain could eventually build toward a meeting between the two unbeaten heavyweights.

“I believe if I continue boxing in the United Kingdom to make some fans background, we will face each other in maybe the next two years, probably,” Jalolov said.

Itauma has rapidly become one of the most discussed young heavyweights in Britain, while Jalolov remains one of the sport’s most decorated amateurs after winning Olympic gold medals in Tokyo and Paris.

The Uzbek southpaw said he is now fully focused on the professional side of his career after years of balancing amateur and pro boxing.

“At some moment,” Jalolov said, “it became to become a two-time Olympic champion, but now it’s aimed to have all the belts in the pro.”

Jalolov faces Agron Smakici this Saturday on the Fabio Wardley vs. Daniel Dubois undercard in Manchester.

Asked how soon he wants a heavyweight title shot, Jalolov kept his answer simple.

“Just give me him,” Jalolov said. “That’s it,” said about wanting to fight Itauma.
