Mets Daily Prospect Report, 4/20/26: St. Lucie Mets > New York Mets

Triple-A: Syracuse Mets (11-9)

POSTPONED (INCLEMENT WEATHER)

Double-A: Binghamton Rumble Ponies (6-8)

AKRON 4, BINGHAMTON 0 (BOX)

The Binghamton Rumble Ponies are arguably the most exciting team in the Mets minor league system to begin the year, with A.J. Ewing, Marco Vargas, Jacob Reimer, Chris Suero, and Eli Serrano, among others, all rostered there- and let alone the various interesting pitchers on the team. Vargas walked once, Reimer walked once, Suero walked twice, and Wyatt Young walked twice, but no one penciled into the lineup yesterday afternoon was able to manage a hit, as Akron Rubberducks no-hit the Rumble Ponies, their first no-hitter since 2015.

·  CF A.J. Ewing: 0-4, K

·  SS Marco Vargas: 0-3, BB, K

·  1B Jacob Reimer: 0-3, BB, 2 K

·  LF Chris Suero: 0-2, 2 BB

·  RF Eli Serrano III: 0-4, K

·  DH Jose Ramos: 0-4, 2 K

·  C Kevin Parada: 0-3

·  3B Nick Lorusso: 0-3

·  2B Wyatt Young: 0-1, 2 BB, K

·  LHP Jonathan Santucci: 4.0 IP, 4 H, 2 R, 2 ER, 2 BB, 5 K, L (0-2)

·  RHP Kevin Gowdy: 1.0 IP, 1 H, 1 R, 1 ER, 1 BB, 1 K

·  LHP Matt Turner: 1.0 IP, 2 H, 1 R, 1 ER, 0 BB, 1 K, BLK, HBP

·  RHP Saul Garcia: 1.0 IP, 0 H, 0 R, 0 ER, 0 BB, 0 K

·  RHP Zach Peek: 1.0 IP, 0 H, 0 R, 0 ER, 1 BB, 2 K

High-A: Brooklyn Cyclones (4-10)

GREENSBORO 6, BROOKLYN 4 / 10 (BOX)

It took a little while for this one to start because of the rain, and I kind of wish that they postponed this one completely, because Brooklyn lost. Brooklyn struck first blood, scoring three runs on the power of a John Bay three-run homer, but the Grasshoppers immediately got those three runs back, as Jonathan Jimenez allowed three runs in the top of the second. The game stayed knotted up at 3-3 through regulation, and into extra innings we went. In the top of the tenth, Felix Cepeda made a mess of things by issuing a pair of walks, one intentional and one not, that came back to bite him; before all was said and done, Greensboro plated three runs, making it a 6-3 ballgame. The Cyclones were able to score a run in the bottom of the inning, but Mitch Voit and Antonio Jimenez flied out and struck out, respectively, ending the game on a sour note.

·  SS Mitch Voit: 0-5, K

·  3B Antonio Jimenez: 0-4, R, BB, 2 K

·  C Ronald Hernandez: 0-4, K

·  DH Corey Collins: 1-2, R, BB, K, HBP

·  CF John Bay: 2-4, R, HR (2), 3 RBI

·  1B Yohairo Cuevas: 0-4, 2 K

·  2B Diego Mosquera: 0-4, R, K

·  LF Kevin Villavicencio: 1-4, 2B, 2 K

·  RF Heriberto Rincon: 2-4, RBI

·  REHAB ALERT LHP A.J. Minter: 0.2 IP, 1 H, 0 R, 0 ER, 0 BB, 0 K

·  RHP Jonathan Jimenez: 2.1 IP, 5 H, 3 R, 3 ER, 2 BB, 2 K, 2 WP

·  RHP Tanner Witt: 3.0 IP, 0 H, 0 R, 0 ER, 2 BB, 1 K

·  RHP Dakota Hawkins: 3.0 IP, 1 H, 0 R, 0 ER, 0 BB, 4 K

·  RHP Felix Cepeda: 1.0 IP, 2 H, 3 R, 2 ER, 2 BB, 1 K, L (0-1)

Single-A: St. Lucie Mets (8-7)

ST. LUCIE 13, DAYTONA 4 (BOX)

Jose Chirinos blanked Daytona earlier this week, when he pitched against them on Tuesday night, but last night he was a little less sharp, allowing a pair of runs in three innings. St. Lucie found themselves behind the eight ball early, but a four spot in the third inning gave them the lead, and they would hold onto it for the rest of the ballgame. The lineup kept hitting and hitting and hitting, scoring thirteen runs in total, with every position player notching a hit and reaching base at least once; four batters had multi-hit games, three got on base three times, and one batter reached base four times- and of course it was Elian Peña, because fate likes playing with my heart and making me believe in an 18-year-old.

·  SS Elian Peña: 3-5, R, 2B, 3 RBI, BB, K

·  DH Chase Meggers: 1-6, R, RBI, K, SB (1)

·  1B Randy Guzman: 1-4, R, 2B, BB, 2 K

·  C Julio Zayas: 2-4, 2 R, RBI

·  RF AJ Salgado: 1-5, R, RBI, 2 K

·  LF JT Benson: 2-4, 2 R, 2 RBI, 2 K, HBP, SB (2)

·  CF Sam Biller: 1-5, R, 2 K

·  3B Sam Robertson: 1-3, 2 R, RBI, 2 BB, K, SB (11)

·  2B Vladi Gomez: 2-3, 2 R, 2B, BB, E (2)

·  RHP Jose Chirinos: 3.0 IP, 4 H, 2 R, 2 ER, 1 BB, 5 K

·  REHAB ALERT RHP Dylan Ross: 1.0 IP, 0 H, 1 R, 0 ER, 1 BB, 2 K, W (1-0)

·  REHAB ALERT LHP Nate Lavender: 1.0 IP, 0 H, 0 R, 0 ER, 1 BB, 2 K

·  RHP Luis Alvarez: 0.1 IP, 0 H, 1 R, 1 ER, 4 BB, 1 K

·  RHP Christian Rodriguez: 2.2 IP, 1 H, 0 R, 0 ER, 0 BB, 5 K
