Sergio Mora says DAZN now sits at center of boxing after Top Rank deal

Sergio Mora is reading the Top Rank-DAZN deal as more than a new distribution move. His take is that DAZN is becoming the place where too much of boxing now runs through to ignore, and that shift has been building for several years rather than arriving overnight.

Asked for his reaction to the partnership, Mora did not talk about branding or short-term buzz. He went straight to the concentration of power. “We have the best promoters under one platform, and that’s Bob Arum, Golden Boy, Eddie Hearn, you know, Frank Warren,” Mora said to Brunch Boxing. He added, “It just trickles down to the fans. The best are going to fight the best because there’s no more politics.”

That is the part worth slowing down on. Arum, Eddie Hearn, and Oscar De La Hoya have spent years operating on opposite sides of the sport’s network lines. Mora is pointing to a situation where those same names are now tied to the same platform.

He made that point even more clearly when he said, “I just think there’s the sky’s the limit in this sport, and I think DAZN really became in what seven, eight years a global home of boxing.”

That is a stronger claim than the usual talk after a network deal. Mora is arguing that DAZN is no longer one player among many. In his view, it is becoming the main meeting point for major promoters, which gives it more pull over which fights get made and how often those deals come together.

He did leave room for the outside players. When asked about working with PBC, Mora said, “Oh, yeah. No, I definitely do,” before adding, “when you start co-promoting, you get the best out of the best.”

His main point stays intact. Mora sees Top Rank joining DAZN as another sign that more of boxing’s business is being drawn into one place. If that continues, it does not just affect matchmaking. It also starts to simplify where fans go to watch the biggest fights.
