Boxing Results: Alberto Mora Rallies From First-Round Knockdown to Beat Jose Amaro

Mora eventually found his timing and began to land more frequently as the fight wore on. Amaro kept his punch output high in every round. For his part, Mora opted for precision, landing the more telling blows as the fight progressed. It became a classic battle of activity versus accuracy.

Things got tense again in the eighth when a right hook from Amaro momentarily buzzed Mora. However, the 26 year old responded like a veteran in the ninth, putting together his best combinations of the night. By the time they reached the final round, Mora’s sharpness stood out against a tiring but still dangerous Amaro.

This victory keeps Mora’s record unblemished as he continues to settle into the featherweight division. For Amaro, it was another performance that proved he is far more than a stay-busy opponent for rising prospects.

Local Hero Grabs Split Decision

The Guadalajara crowd saw one of their own, Abraham Cordero, narrowly escape with a win against Eduardo Martinez. In a 10 round junior welterweight battle that divided the officials, Cordero took two cards at 97-93 and 96-94, while Martinez earned a 96-95 score from the third. The announcement drew a vocal, mixed reaction from the fans in attendance.

Cordero keeps his winning streak alive with the result. For Martinez, the loss snapped a six fight run of success in a contest that truly could have gone either way.

Juarez Boxes to Victory

Sebastian Juarez, brother of Omar Juarez, showcased a disciplined performance in his six round junior middleweight appearance. Facing the awkward and persistent Ernesto Sanchez, Juarez relied on superior control and patience to dictate the pace.

The judges saw a clear lead for Juarez, who moves forward with his undefeated record intact. Sanchez remained competitive but simply couldn’t match the consistent technical work Juarez provided over the distance.
