‘Crocodile tears’ – Chelsea star Wesley Fofana accused of FAKE CRYING after Arsenal loss by former Premier League ace

WESLEY FOFANA has been accused of FAKE CRYING after Chelsea’s defeat to Arsenal.

Former Premier League star Gabby Agbonlahor has suggested that the emotional Chelsea defender was shedding “crocodile tears” after their semi-final exit.

Chelsea lost 4–2 on aggregate in the semi-final encounter.

Fofana, 25, featured in Chelsea’s third-round win over Lincoln City, but was benched for the next two ties – before being recalled for both semi-final games and losing both.

Former Aston Villa star Agbonlahor, 39, said: “They are crocodile tears.

“Where’s the cameras? Here they are.

“No offence to the Carabao Cup. But losing the semi-final as they did – without putting a fight up.

“It’s not as if they were hitting the post and there was chances clinging off the line.”

During the first game at Stamford Bridge, Alejandro Garnacho netted twice in the second half.

Unfortunately for Chelsea, Arsenal put three past Robert Sanchez.

But when it came to the second leg, both sides struggled to score with only four shots on target in the game’s entirety.

And Liam Rosenior‘s side’s fate was sealed when they conceded yet again in the final seconds of added time with Kai Havertz netting the only goal.

Agbonlahor said: “They didn’t lay a glove on Arsenal, so for me, I wasn’t having those tears from Fofana.”

The Villa icon insisted that he really doubted how genuine the tears were.

He added: “I don’t know one bit. Not one bit.”

But the former England forward went even further.

Agbonlahor said that even managers are guilty of exaggerating their emotional reactions.

He said: “How many times have you seen managers play up for the cameras?”

He then pointed the finger at Pep Guardiola.

With the recent poor results from Manchester City, Agbonlahor suggested that Guardiola will now just give an “evil” look to the camera before disappearing down the tunnel.

Arsenal will face either City or Newcastle United in the Carabao Cup final on March 22.
