FORMER England striker Andy Carroll has arrived at court on crutches charged with breaching a non-molestation order.
The ex-Newcastle and Liverpool star was arrested at Stansted Airport in front of holidaymakers last April.
Carroll, 37, has arrived at Chelmsford Magistrates’ Court today for a hearing.
He is charged with breaching a non-molestation order relating to an alleged incident in March last year.
A non-molestation order is an injunction issued by a civil court, usually aimed at preventing a person from going near another individual, address or both.
People who breach one, depending on the circumstances, can face criminal action resulting in a jail term of up to five years.
The Sun revealed in July how an unnamed ex-Premier League star was arrested at an airport in front of other passengers after flying into the UK.
He was held shortly after getting off a flight at Stansted, following a journey from France.
We were able to name Carroll once he was charged and named by police.
Essex Police said at the time: “A man has been charged with breaching a non-molestation order.
“Andrew Carroll was arrested on April 27 and the alleged offences relate to an incident in March.”
Carroll started his professional career with Newcastle where he scored 31 goals in 80 appearances between 2006 to 2011.
He moved to Liverpool for £35million in the 2011 January transfer window – making him the most expensive British footballer at the time.
Carroll stayed at Anfield for two years – making 44 appearances before going to West Ham.
In 2019, he left the Hammers and had a brief stint back at Newcastle before signing for Reading and West Brom.
Carroll, who was capped eight times for England, later had spells at Amiens and Bordeaux before he returned to the UK last summer.
He signed for National League South side Dagenham & Redbridge in July on a three-year deal.
The striker married Towie TV star Billi Mucklow, 37, in 2022 but two years later, it was announced the couple were divorcing.
They have three children together, while Carroll has two others from a previous relationship.
Since 2024, he has been in a relationship with hairstylist Lou Teasdale.
