‘Go f*** yourself’ – Tennis legend John McEnroe in heated airport confrontation with young fan after Australian Open

McEnroe told the fan to wait after he asked for a photo, and he was then followed into the concourse.

The American became frustrated as the fan continually asked for a selfie.

He told the individual: “I need you stay away from me okay. Just get away. Can we stop him?”

The persistent fan refused to stop however, causing McEnroe to raise his voice.

McEnroe, 66, called on security to deal with the man, who called out: “I still love you, John.”

The tennis commentator hit back, saying: “Go f*** yourself.”

McEnroe was flying out after working at the Australian Open, which was won by Carlos Alcaraz on Sunday.

It is a venue where McEnroe has previously got in trouble for an outburst, having been defaulted from a match in 1984 after abusing officials and smashing his racket in anger.

He infamously berated the umpire in his first round win at Wimbledon in 1981, declaring the famous line: “You cannot be serious!”
