Fans tear into Liverpool stars’ dodgy sponsored arrival gear before Newcastle clash including ‘train driver’ Mo Salah

FANS have torn into Liverpool stars’ dodgy sponsored arrival clothes ahead of facing Newcastle.

The Reds arrived at Anfield and were hoping to get themselves within striking range of the top four against the Magpies.

The players arrived in the stadium in focused fashion however their clothing caused a stir on social media.

Liverpool stars were dressed head-to-toe in American fashion designer Tommy Hilfiger gear.

The club announced a new global partnership with the brand and announced it earlier this month.

The partnership has been described as the “first-of-its-kind” as the players will wear the brand’s classics on matchdays.

However, fans were convinced that some of the players were not impressed with their new threads.

Mo Salah appeared to be downbeat as he came down the corridor in a suit with some tasselled shoes.

Federico Chiesa was compared to a teacher and Dominik Szoboszlai was likened to an IT specialist.

One fan commented: “Salah didn’t look impressed.. Also looks like he drives trains or buses.”

A second wrote: “This is embarrassing. Get everyone in a trackie and concentrate on the game.”

A third commented: “Chiesa look like me when I go to school as teacher.”

A fourth said: “Awful clobber.”

Another added: “A very miserable non-uniform day lol.”

Liverpool captain Virgil van Dijk was excited about the partnership when it was announced.

He said: “It’s great to see our LFC club partnership with Tommy Hilfiger go live.

“We as players are excited to see the collaboration come to life, bringing together fashion, culture and heritage.”

The deal will see the fashion brand curate special collections for the club that will tie in with its classic looks.

The dodgy clothing did not put Liverpool off their game as they romped to a 4-1 win over Newcastle.

Hugo Ekitike netted a brace while Florian Wirtz and Ibrahim Konate added as they came back from behind after Anthony Gordon’s opener.
