Salah, 33, vented his fury at being benched for the Merseysiders’ matches with West Ham, Sunderland and Leeds United in a bombshell interview at Elland Road last week.

He sensationally accused manager Arne Slot of THROWING HIM UNDER THE BUS.

Slot responded by dropping the club’s talismanic forward from his matchday squad for Tuesday’s Champions League with Inter Milan.

Salah was, however, restored to the bench by his gaffer for Brighton’s visit to Anfield on Saturday afternoon.

And he surprisingly found himself back on the pitch after 25 minutes when Slot ordered him to replace the crocked Joe Gomez.

The Anfield faithful cheered the returning winger after he crossed the touchline with his team-mates winning 1-0 thanks to an opening-minute goal from Hugo Ekitike.

And scores of Liverpool fans watching the match at home were elated to see him back on the pitch.

One wrote on X: “You will never walk alone, Salah.”

Another said: “Let’s go, Salah.”

And another said: “Hopefully this not his last game for Liverpool.”

One remarked: “The king is back.”

Another chimed in: “Perfectly handled by Liverpool fans.

“Cheered Slot midweek. Cheered Salah today. Nicely done, Reds.”

Slot’s decision to bring Salah on could be a sign that he’s willing to hand the former Chelsea and Roma man a lifeline after his scathing rant last weekend, in which he hinted he could depart Anfield in the January transfer window.

He said: “I’m very, very disappointed. I have done so much for this club. Everybody can see that during the years and especially last season.

“It seems like the club is throwing me under the bus. That’s how I feel. “It’s very clear that someone wants me to get all the blame.”

On his broken relationship with Slot, the winger said: “I said many times before I had a good relationship with the manager and all of a sudden we don’t have any relationship. I don’t know why.

“It’s not acceptable for me. I don’t know why that happened always to me, I don’t get it. If I was somewhere else, the club will protect its player.

It seems like the club is throwing me under the bus.”

“I don’t know why I’m in that situation now but again it’s how I see it.

“It’s like you throw him under the bus because he’s a problem in the team now but I don’t think I’m the problem.

“I have done so much for this club to get the respect I want and I don’t have to go every day fighting for my position because I earn it.

“I’ve been in this club scoring more than anyone in this generation.

“I would say since I came to the Premier League, I don’t think anybody scored more goals than me, or assists.

“I remembered a while ago Harry Kane was not scoring for I think ten games and scored one, two goals.

“Everyone in the media was like, ‘Oh, Harry will score for sure’. “When it comes to Mo, he needs to be on the bench.”

When pressed on Salah’s future on Friday, Slot said: “I have no reasons to not want him to stay.”

He added: “I will have a conversation with Mo. The outcome of that conversation determines how things will look [on Saturday].”
