Mo Salah decides Liverpool future ahead of transfer window after astonishing ‘trying to force me out’ claim

MOHAMED SALAH has no intention of leaving Liverpool in the January transfer window despite claiming the club has “thrown him under the bus,” SunSport has been told.

Salah is clearly unhappy with his playing time and appeared frustrated after Liverpool’s dramatic 3–3 draw with Leeds United.

His comments have landed him in trouble with his employers, and he has been left out of Liverpool’s Champions League clash with Inter Milan.

The episode has left Salah disappointed, as he had hoped to retire at Liverpool but now feels someone is pushing him out.

SunSport understands Salah’s comments came as no surprise to some teammates, who have noticed he has cut an unhappy figure around the club in recent weeks.

The player is aware he would not be short of suitors if he chose to leave the Reds next month, but sources close to Salah have told SunSport there is very little chance he will depart in the January window.

SunSport has also been told that the Egyptian forward held talks with national team coach Hossam Hassan, who assured him he would be happy to welcome him into camp early if Salah decided he did not want to be involved in this weekend’s game against Brighton and instead preferred to return to Egypt, where preparations for AFCON are already underway.

SunSport reached out to the Egyptian FA for comment and was directed to football director Ibrahim Hassan, who insisted Salah will remain a great player for Liverpool despite recent struggles.

He told Egyptian media: “Mohamed Salah is a great player and he will return stronger and better, as we have always known him to be, in the upcoming matches. Salah will continue to make history with Liverpool after becoming one of its legends.”

Salah has never won AFCON, something Jamie Carragher reminded him of, and his national team director has urged him to use the challenges he faces at club level as motivation to lead Egypt to an eighth African Cup of Nations title in Morocco on December 21.

He added:“Mohamed Salah will also make history with the Egyptian national team in the Africa Cup of Nations, along with the coaching staff and his teammates, by winning the championship.”

SunSport understands that Saudi giants Al Hilal are monitoring Salah’s situation, although a January move is viewed as highly unlikely, with a summer deal considered far more realistic.

Salah has already rejected huge offers, including a widely reported £150 million move to the Middle East a couple of seasons ago.

His family is settled on Merseyside, and money is not a major motivating factor for the Egyptian, whose ambition remains a far stronger driving force than financial incentives.

SunSport has been told that Salah will leave the decision on whether he is involved in the squad this weekend to the club, rather than rushing back to join his international teammates amid all the chaos.
