CHARLTON’S Championship clash with Portsmouth has been halted after a medical emergency in the crowd.
Both sides are looking to return to winning ways in their lunchtime showdown at the Valley.
But the game was suspended after 12 minutes as a medical team rushed to a Charlton fan’s aid in the Covered End.
Referee Matthew Donohue then ordered the players to leave the pitch in the 19th minute due to the distressing scenes.
The supporter was taken away on a stretcher by paramedics after 10 minutes of treatment.
A minute’s applause was held for Billy Bonds and Marvin Hinton before the encounter got underway at the Valley.
And Charlton had already seen Lloyd Jones pick up a yellow card in the early exchanges.
