Mbeumo reveals there’s ‘no limit’ to what he can do at Man Utd as Brighton boss gives verdict on Red Devils signings

BRYAN MBEUMO said he has set “no limits” on what he can achieve at Manchester United after his double secured a 4-2 win over Brighton.

Mbeumo’s second in the 96th minute calmed the nerves inside Old Trafford as the Red Devils won three league games on the trot for the first time since February 2024.

It keeps the former Brentford winger on track to match the 20 goals he scored in his final season at the Gtech before his £71million summer move.

Mbeumo, 26, said:  “I always try to aim big in everything I do.

“I try to not set limits on myself, on what I can reach. I’m just going to work and try to do the best I possibly can.”

Mbeumo represents somewhat of a throwback signing for United.

During the Sir Alex Ferguson era, United signed the very best the Prem had to offer, asserting their power to steal Dimitar Berbatov from Tottenham for example.

And Mbeumo’s touch is Berbatov-esque as his tally climbed to five goals this season.

Meanwhile, fellow summer signing Matheus Cunha opened his account with a stunning finish at Old Trafford.

Mbeumo added: “I think he took some pressure off his shoulders today with the goal.

“He was waiting for it. We were waiting for it for him as well. So we are very happy for him.”

Brighton boss Fabian Hurzeler was asked about the difference between now and his last visit to the Theatre of Dreams in January, when he walked away with a 3-1 win.

He said: “Much more individual quality and compact going forward. The money was well invested.”

Amorim added: “Mbeumo is a working machine. He’s so good in transitions.

“He’s improving when we are organising the final third. The connection with Amad, it’s really hard to beat these two guys.”
