“Football has given me everything — memories, friendships, and moments I’ll never forget.

“Thank you to every teammate, coach, fan, and club that’s been part of my the ride. It’s been an honour.”

Carson spent four years at Man City after joining on a permanent basis from Derby County in 2021.

The goalkeeper had initially spent two seasons on loan at the Etihad.

He made just two appearances for the Premier League giants, meaning he earned roughly £4million per outing.

His debut came against Newcastle in the Premier League in 2021, while his second appearance was a 17-minute cameo against Sporting Lisbon in the Champions League the following year.
