FORMER footballer Julio Lourenco who played under Jose Mourinho has died aged 52.
He played in Portugal for teams including Vitoria Setubal, Palmelense, Pinhalnovense, and Alcacerense.
And it was at Vitoria Setubal where he came across Mourinho.
The former Chelsea, Manchester United and Tottenham boss worked for his hometown club in the early 1990s.
Lourenco was one of the Special One’s pupils, and he went on to play for CD Pinhalense.
Lourenco later worked as their assistant manager, and moved on to coach in academies in Namibia.

The 52-year-old had recently begun working at the DS Football Academy in the West African country.
But he has died after a Toyota he was travelling in was involved in an accident late last Thursday night.
Two women in the vehicle, aged 36 and 84, were also killed. The driver and a male passenger were treated in hospital for their injuries.
Reports said the pick-up truck had hit an oil drum on the B1 highway.
CD Pinhalense paid tribute to Lourenco on social media.
They wrote: “We express our deepest grief at the passing of Julio Lourenco, who served our club for decades with dedication and passion.
“He fulfilled the roles of player, coach, co-ordinator and director.
“His commitment and contribution indelibly left a mark on the history of our club, and on all those who had the privilege to know him.
“We send our deepest condolences to his family, friends and the entire local community. Rest in peace, Julio.”
Mourinho took charge of Benfica last month. They are due to face Newcastle in the Champions League at St James’ Park on Tuesday night.
