Frank Lampard reveals brutal six-month training regime behind body transformation and fuelling Coventry’s promotion push

FRANK LAMPARD has revealed his secrets to maintaining Coventry’s unbeaten run as they aim for promotion to the Premier League.

Coventry are top of the Championship, impressively scoring a WHOPPING 29 goals whilst keeping 5 consecutive clean sheets.

Lampard’s side comfortably saw off Blackburn Rovers this afternoon, with the Sky Blues taking top spot of the Championship.

And Lamps has lifted the lid on the personal training regime that has helped him inspire the club’s recent success.

He told ITV News: “This job is very consuming, there are a lot tougher jobs in life, but if you do this job properly, you must have it with you 24 hours a day.

“I am a single man working in my job. I don’t normally get asked about my personal training.

“At times you can put your life to the side. I’ve just made an effort to try and get in that gym if I can get there in the early mornings or afternoons.”

ITV News revealed Lampard has been taking part in this fitness regime for the past 6 months.

Lampard stated that one of the reasons behind his personal training regime is to balance the stress that comes with management.

However, there has been little to stress about in his side’s performances in recent weeks.

Sublime volleys from Victor Torp and Brandon Thomas-Asante were enough to overcome struggling Blackburn Rovers, who sit in the relegation zone.

Lampard’s admission has given the public a window into the mountains of pressure managers face every hour of the day.

Derby was Lampard’s first management role in football, and it came with a heartbreaking Championship play-off final loss against Aston Villa in 2019.

Shortly after, the former England star returned to Stamford Bridge, where he led Chelsea to finish fourth in the Premier League, despite a transfer ban.

Unfortunately, an underwhelming start to his second season led Roman Abramovich to replace Lampard with Thomas Tuchel.

A season later, Lampard joined Everton, where he was relieved of his duties after less than a year in charge, recording a 27% win percentage at Goodison Park.

Poor results had started to affect his reputation as a manager, but it looks like Lampard has turned a corner at Coventry City.

Coventry will visit newly-promoted Portsmouth on Tuesday, where the Sky Blues will look to extend their unbeaten run in the Championship.
