Boxing Results: George Liddard’s Statement Win Over Kieron Conway Headlines Brutal Night of Knockouts on DAZN

British and Commonwealth Middleweight champ Kieron ‘Too Class’ Conway (23-4-1 (7) was stopped by ‘Billericay Bomber’ George Liddard (13-0 (8) at 0:49 of the tenth round of a scheduled 12 rounds on Friday night at York Hall, Bethel Green, London, UK.

Liddard Breaks Down Conway Late

In the second round, a right from the shorter Liddard drew blood from the nose of Conway. In the third and fourth rounds of an all-action fight, Liddard had a slight edge. In the fifth round, Conway came back well enough to take the round. In the sixth round, there was swelling under the right eye of Conway in a fight with Liddard ahead.

In the eighth round, Conway suffered nosebleeding and a small cut between his left eye and nose. In the ninth round, Liddard dropped Conway with a body shot for an 8-count from referee Mark Bates.

In the tenth round, cut under the right eye, Conway’s corner threw in the towel with Liddard well ahead at the end.

Jimmy Sains Adds Two More Belts

Impressive Southern Area champion Jimmy Sains (11-0 (10) stopped South Midlands champion Troy ‘Hawk’ Coleman (14-4-1 (6) after four rounds in a scheduled 10 rounds for the vacant Commonwealth Silver and BBBofC English middleweight titles.

In the first two rounds, Sains had his way over Coleman. In the third round, Sains bloodied the nose of Coleman.

In the fourth round, Sains hurt Coleman in the final minute with a left hook to the body, causing him to hold on. At the end of the round, the corner of Coleman advised Referee Lee Every to call a halt.

Shannon Ryan Claims IBF Silver

In the chief support, former Shannon Ryan (10-1 (2) scored a fourth-round injury stoppage of Chloe Watson (8-2) in a scheduled 10×2 for the vacant IBF Inter-Continental super flyweight title.

In the first two rounds, Ryan had a slight edge. In the third round’s final minute, Watson’s right eye is closing due to a clash of heads.

In the fourth round, with her right eye now closed, Watson was given one more round by the ring physician. She fought a desperate round, doing her best in a hard-fought losing round. The fight was halted after the fourth due to Watson’s swollen right eye from a clash of heads.

At the time of the stooppage, the scores were 40-36, 40-36, and 40-36. Reece Carter was the referee.

Bevan Scores Fifth-Round Knockout

Super middleweight Taylor Bevan (6-0 (6) knocked out the tough Lukas Ferneza (6-4 (3) at 1:17 of the fifth round of a scheduled eight rounds.

In the first round, the taller Bevan out-boxed Ferneza. In the second round, Ferneza fought it out with Bevan, coming up short again. In the third round, with a little over a minute remaining, Bevan landed a hard right uppercut on the chin of Ferneza, who had never been stopped, and shrugged it off. In the fourth round, Bevan had a mark on the left eye, and Ferneza had one under his right eye.

In the fourth round, the action was good with Ferneza having his way in the final minute, taking the round. In the fifth round, after a little over a minute, Bevan dropped Ferneza with a right, followed by a left hook on the chin for an 8-count from referee Sean McAvoy. As Ferneza got up, he looked to his corner, causing referee McAvoy to wave it off as Ferneza dropped to a knee.

Buttigieg Wins Despite Bad Cut

Middleweight four-time National amateur champion Emmanuel Buttigieg (10-0 (3) defeated a game Christian ‘Coqqus’ Schembri (27-13-1 (11) by an eight-round points decision.

In the first round, Buttigieg had his way as Schembri was on the move with his hands to his side. In the first minute of the second round, a clash of heads caused a cut on the forehead of Buttigieg and on the left eyebrow of Schembri. Buttigieg won the round as the blood was coming down his forehead.

In the third round, Buttigieg landed more against Schembri, who has never been stopped fourth back. With a minute remaining in the fourth round, the cut on the forehead of Buttigieg reopened, running down his face as he still took a close round.

In the fifth round, Schembri was on the move when he would stop and slug it out with Buttigieg, whose cut was opened again. In the sixth round, at times Schembri had Buttigieg backing up when Schembri would come back with punches of his own in a close round.

In the seventh round, Buttigieg had a good round as Schembri seemed to slow down in the final minute. In the eighth and final round, both had their moments showing respect for one another after the bell.

Referee Lee Every scored it 79-73.

Tiah Mai Ayton Stays Perfect at 3-0

Sensational bantamweight 19-year-old former Amateur World champ and 5-Time National champion Tiah Mai Ayton (3-0 (3), knocked out a game Laura ‘El Terrible’ Valdenbenito (8-7-1 (2) at 1:59 of the fourth round of a scheduled 6×2 rounds, scoring a pair of knockdowns.

In the first minute of the second round, a solid right from Ayton on the side of the head dropped the shorter Valdenbenito for an 8-count from referee Sean McAvoy. In the fourth round’s final seconds, Ayton dropped Valdenbenito with a right on top of the head for an 8-count. With blood coming from her nose, referee McAvoy called a halt.

Super featherweight Jermaine ‘God’s Plan’ Dhliwayo, 7-0 (2) knocked out Victorino Vera (8-9 (3) at 1:23 of the fourth of a scheduled six rounds.

In the first three rounds Dhliwayo dominated. In the fourth round, Dhliwayo dropped Vera with a body shot as referee Sean McAvoy counted him out.

Featherweight Adam Maca (3-0 (3) stopped Juan Alberto Batista (1-22 (0) at 1:42 of the fourth round.

In the first round, Maca dominated. In the fourth round, referee Lee Emery called a halt in Maca’s favor.
