Actor Leo Gregory reveals sequel for iconic football film to begin filming next year

GREEN STREET actor Leo Gregory has revealed that filming for a sequel will begin next year.

Gregory played Bovver in the 2005 cult classic about an ex-Harvard student who befriends a gang of West Ham football hooligans.

The film also featured Elijah Wood and Charlie Hunnam – both of whom have gone on to enjoy Hollywood success in the two decades since.

It has long been assumed that Green Street would be left as a standalone flick.

But Gregory has told fans otherwise.

He said in an interview with talkSPORT: “I have a film coming out next year.

“And the same producer of that, Andrew Loveday, amazing man, we’re going to be shooting a new Green Street next year with Signature [Entertainment], 20 years later. And that is an exclusive!”

Spoiler alert: Hunnam’s character, Pete Dunham, was beaten to death by a Millwall rival at the end of the first film.

And Gregory was asked whether he really did die, or if a dramatic twist could be in store for the sequel.

He replied: “He is [dead], although there are rumours that he’s popped up on Netflix recently!

“I don’t know if they can be confirmed or not but I’ve heard he’s done a very good job.”

Gregory’s character Bovver double-crossed his Hammers pals with a tip-off which led to Dunham’s brutal end.

Pressed on what that could mean for the second film, the actor, now 46, said: “Well, we’ll have to find out very, very soon, won’t we?

“But I think Bovver would suggest that he did it out of necessity.”
