Blue Jays SS Bo Bichette remains out of the lineup with knee injury heading into ALCS Game 1 vs. Mariners

Toronto Blue Jays All-Star shortstop Bo Bichette will miss the American League Championship Series against the Seattle Mariners because of a sprained knee.

Bichette has been out of the lineup for Toronto since suffering the injury during a Sept. 6 game against the New York Yankees, when he collided with catcher Austin Wells, spraining his left knee in the process. The Blue Jays placed their star shortstop on the injured list on Sept. 9.

Prior to going down with the knee injury, Bichette was having a remarkable season after a down year in 2024. Bichette finished the season with a .311 batting average, 18 home runs and 94 RBI, which is the second highest of his career. He played in 139 games (Bichette played in only 81 games in 2024) had a .483 slugging percentage and .840 OPS.

The Blue Jays are in the ALCS after finishing off the New York Yankees in four games in the ALDS last week.
