BENJAMIN SESKO is on a mission to reach out to a fan who was captured celebrating wildly after his stunning first goal at Old Trafford for Manchester United.
The 22-year-old striker, who joined United this summer from RB Leipzig, has been making an instant impact.
After opening his account in a defeat to Brentford, the Slovenia international followed it up with a crucial goal in United’s 2-0 win over Sunderland at Old Trafford.
Sesko’s first goal at the Theatre of Dreams came after a clever close-range finish, which doubled United’s lead and sealed the victory against the Black Cats.
But it wasn’t just the goal that stood out it was the passion and energy from the Stretford End that caught his attention.
In the midst of his signature leaping celebration, Sesko spotted one fan in particular who was visibly overjoyed.
The supporter’s reaction was so infectious Manchester United posted a statement on their website explaining that Sesko wants to try to get in touch and thank the fan personally for sharing in the moment.
Part of the statement read: “Our no.30 is trying to get in touch with the Stretford Ender and show his gratitude, as he was able to share the moment of elation.”
Speaking about the moment, Sesko told MUTV after the match: “It was unbelievable.
“To score at Old Trafford and experience that atmosphere, it’s something I’ve been dreaming about for a long time.
“And to have that fan share in the celebration made it even more special.”
The Slovenia forward has become a key figure in United’s attack since his arrival, and his confidence is clearly growing with each match.
His performances have earned him praise from both teammates and fans alike with many now looking to him as a focal point of the team.
The Slovenian’s leap of joy after scoring his first Old Trafford goal was a trademark moment, one that echoed his long-held aspirations of playing at the highest level and scoring in front of the passionate United faithful.
He continued: “The goal, the atmosphere, everything about it was just perfect.
“It’s hard to describe how it felt. The whole stadium was behind us, and to feel that energy was a dream come true.”
United will hope Sesko can now build on from here and provide the goals that will get the club back to where they desperately want to be after the struggles of Rasmus Hojlund last season.
