MASON MOUNT and Benjamin Sesko were on target as Manchester United beat Sunderland 2-0.
The Red Devils eased the pressure on Ruben Amorim as they bagged a much-needed win.
But who was United’s best player at Old Trafford?

Senne Lammens – 7
Apart from being left vulnerable by Dalot seconds into his club debut, Lammens had nothing to do for the opening 40 minutes before pulling out a brilliant stop on Granit Xhaha’s effort.
His predecessors might have been caught cold.
Old Trafford gave the youngster a standing ovation for coming out to catch the ball from a simple cross.
That really showed Altay Bayindir how the fans feel.
A trip to Anfield next will be the biggest test of his career.
Matthijs De Ligt – 7
After being left out of the latest Netherlands squad, De Ligt was back making handy interceptions until his dire touch set up half a chance for Sunderland on the brink of half-time.
Leny Yoro – 6
Back in after Harry Maguire’s off-day at Brentford and didn’t have as much to do as the England centre-back did last week.
Some rusty passing and clearances unsettled the crowd in the final 20. Almost made a mess of a crucial intervention, but his slip did its job. Better spatial awareness to find himself in the right place defensively.
Luke Shaw – 5
The England full-back continued his up and down trend of good and bad performances. This was one of his better ones.
Amad Diallo – 6
Back in the side after compassionate leave. Lifted the crowd with his silky charge towards the area before making the wrong decision to pass into Mbuemo in the early exchanges.
But the winger, turned wingback, soon heard the crowd and began forcing Robin Roefs into full-stretch saves. A threat throughout, but caught offside too many times.
Casemiro – 7
The days where Casemiro looked finished in Premier League football appear long gone. The Brazil international, back from a red card suspension, steadied the ship in the first-half.
Sent a delicious pass into Sesko for a chance minutes after a big headed clearance at the other end. But he showed his age somewhat when a silly lunge earned a booking in the last ten minutes.
Bruno Fernandes – 7
Spotted telling Dalot to calm down at times. The skipper’s technical ability was the catalyst for plenty of great build-up play.
Was kept out by an outstanding tipping save from Roefs. United got Bruno on the ball much more than they did at Brentford, he kept his side ticking.
Diogo Dalot – 3
After last weekend’s nightmare at the Gtech, Dalot was again United’s weak link. It was first shown when he miscontrolled the ball out of play in the first 10 seconds.
The fullback was let off the hook by an offside flag after being outsmarted by Bertrand Traore’s diagonal run in the opening three minutes.
And put his centre-backs in danger as Sunderland bypassed his weak challenges and wayward passes all too frequently. Hauled off for Dorgu with half an hour to go.
Bryan Mbeumo – 7
Got over his early jitters with a superb assist from a cross into the box picked up by Mount.
Mbeumo’s frontline press, precise crosses and directness all add something United never had last season. Another strong showing.
Mason Mount – 8
United’s best player. He took his goal excellently after bringing the ball down with his left before rolling in with his right. Justified his selection ahead of Matheus Cunha.
Not many fans were happy with Mount’s signing and his dismal injury record made it worse, but the former Chelsea star appears to have finally found his feet at Old Trafford after two years.
Benjamin Sesko – 7
It’s two goals in two games for the £74million signing. The 22-year-old found space to finish off a poachers strike from close range when United needed breathing space.
And just as he did against Brentford, the striker used his 6ft 5in height to knock on every ball before and after his first goal in front of Stretford End.
He was also involved in excellent build-up play for chances that should’ve been put to bed in the opening 30 minutes.
