Newcastle blow as Tino Livramento to miss TEN matches after sustaining ligament damage against Arsenal

NEWCASTLE have been dealt a major blow with Tino Livramento expected to miss TEN matches through injury.

The defender was forced off during Toon’s 2-1 defeat to Arsenal at the weekend.

And Sky Sports claims Livramento suffered knee ligament damage as Newcastle conceded a 96th minute winner, ruling him out for up to eight weeks.

The versatile full-back has avoided rupturing his ACL for a second time.

But Livramento must now embark on a patient rehab and recovery period.

He’s expected to miss as many as 10 Newcastle games in the process.

And his absence will be felt as Eddie Howe looks to compete in both the Premier League and Champions League.

Livramento hurt his leg after being fouled by William Saliba, with Howe admitting the setback did not look good.

He could now be out until late November, missing Champions League clashes against Union Saint-Gilloise, Benfica and Athletic Bilbao.

In the Premier League, Livramento is expected to be unavailable against Nottingham Forest, Brighton, Fulham, West Ham, Brentford and Man City.

While he will also miss this month’s Carabao Cup last-16 clash with Tottenham.

But Livramento could return in time for a European trip to Marseille, with Toon quickly facing Everton and Spurs in the league soon after.

Arsenal’s penalty at Newcastle should NOT have been overturned and was just like infamous Saliba incident, says ex-ref

The former Chelsea academy star has been at St James’ Park since 2023 following a £40million switch from Southampton.

Livramento has since played 88 times, helping Newcastle lift the Carabao Cup earlier this year.

And as well as winning the Euros with England’s U21s, he’s also earned three senior Three Lions caps in the past year.
