Bayern Munich break silence on Harry Kane transfer future after Thomas Frank offered England captain return to Tottenham

SENIOR figures at Bayern Munich have shot down the chances of Harry Kane leaving Germany after Tottenham boss Thomas Frank left a return on the table.

Kane has scored a remarkable 98 goals for Bayern in just over two seasons and lifted the first major silverware of his professional career after winning the Bundesliga title earlier this year.

The England captain has a release clause in his contract with the Bavarian side which leaves him open to a possible premature exit.

Manager Vincent Kompany does not expect to see Kane depart despite Frank speaking openly about a Spurs reunion.

He said: “Harry is in an excellent phase. I don’t want to pave the way for any other discussion. Harry wants to win titles, and he can do that at Bayern. That’s the only focus.”

Bayern sporting director Max Eberl added: “The way Harry is behaving shows that he is fully committed.

“He is old enough to make his own decisions, regardless of whether he has a release clause or not. Our desire is to achieve success with Harry this season and also in the future.”

Kane is tied down at the Allianz Arena until 2027 with his release clause thought to have already dropped from close to £70million in January to just over £50m in 2026.

As Frank looks to establish Tottenham on the top table of European football, there has been plenty of talk around Kane going back to the Premier League.

Last week, Frank said: “There are a lot of Tottenham fans, including myself, who would like to see Kane back.

“Personally, I don’t think he will do it right now, if I’m honest. He’ll probably stay in Bayern and continue performing well.

“He was the top scorer last year. He won the title and he’s doing fantastic now. I don’t know what he’s thinking.

“Myself, I’m a traveller, I like to explore things as well, so he’s been here for many years, so why not enjoy the time in Bayern a little bit more.

“But he’s welcome. If he wants to join us, he’s more than welcome.”

Kane has been open about his continued love for Spurs.

Less than two months after leaving in 2023, the England superstar said: “I have made it clear my whole career that I am a Tottenham fan and I would love to see Tottenham do well.

“There is no other team in the Premier League I would want to win more than Tottenham.”

He has followed on from a dominant 2024-25 season that brought 41 goals and 14 assists from 51 matches in all competitions.

Kane already has 13 to his name from just seven outings this term including two hat-tricks, most-recently away to Hoffenheim last Saturday.
