FUMING Manchester United fans called for Ruben Amorim to be sacked after Marcus Rashford’s sensational two-goal haul for Barcelona against Newcastle.
The England star, 27, returned to home soil alongside his new Barca team-mates to take on the Toon in the Champions League.
Rashford made it a match to remember by producing a stunning reminder of his talent.
The Man Utd loanee broke the deadlock on 58 minutes with a pinpoint header.
He then doubled his tally with a sensational thunderbolt into the top corner on 69 minutes.
United fans watching on at home, in the absence of their own team being in the Champions League this year, were left seething at their under-fire boss.
One wrote on X: “Amorim should be sacked just based on the performances of Rashford, McT, and Rasmus lmao. Will be peak when Garnacho drops the siuuuu at old trafford.”
While a second echoed: “Amorim should get sacked just for getting rid of Rashford. That’s a manager who doesn’t know what hes doing.”
A third commented: “Amorim should be sacked on running Rashford out of town alone man. This is untenable.”
And another added: “Sack Amorim, Bring Southgate and get Rashford back.”
Rashford was frozen out by Amorim early on in the Portuguese boss’ Red Devils tenure.
After featuring in just four Premier League matches under the United manager, the forward was shunted out on loan to Aston Villa.
Despite a productive spell in the Midlands, Rashford was not given a chance to return to the United fold under Amorim – with his No10 shirt given to Matheus Cunha before he’d even left.
Rashford subsequently signed a one-year loan deal at Barcelona, which possesses a £26million option to buy.
Prior to tonight, the forward was yet to score in four LaLiga appearances for his new side.
But he broke that duck in style, netting his first Champions League goals since October 2021.
In a further boost to Rashford, England boss Thomas Tuchel was in the stands watching on.
