CHELSEA fans were left fuming after Jonathan Tah’s “WWE showdown” with Joao Pedro.
The Bayern Munich defender floored the Brazilian in the build-up to Cole Palmer’s goal in the Champions League clash.
Palmer netted for the Blues to halve the deficit following an own goal from Trevoh Chalobah and a penalty by Harry Kane.
But in the move before the forward’s finishing touch, Pedro was left on the floor after a clash with Tah.
The two were jostling to get into the Bayern half, with the striker coming off worse.
Tah was shown a yellow card by referee Jose Maria Sanchez for his role in the collision.
Chelsea fans were left fuming with many claiming he should have been shown a red card.
One posted: “He punched him?”
A second wrote: “Why was Tah having a WWE showdown with Joao Pedro in the middle of the pitch.”
A third commented: “Gave Bayern a foul that wasn’t for their first goal. Gave Bayern a controversial penalty for a second. Gave Tah yellow for a RED CARD offence.”
A fourth said: “Tah committed grievous bodily harm on Joao Pedro in the buildup to the Palmer goal.”
A fifth fumed: “Absolutely robbed, Bayern should be down to ten men for that.”
Another added: “Did I miss some sort of memo where every European team’s players or staff are allowed a punch at Joao Pedro.”
Bayern went on to re-establish their two-goal lead in the second half as Kane netted for a second time.
Tah only joined the Bundesliga champions in the summer after his contract expired at Bayer Leverkusen.
He had previously been linked with moves to the Premier League with Manchester United, Tottenham Hotspur and West Ham touted as potential destinations.
