Man Utd in drastic improvement despite Man City derby demolition as supercomputer predicts final table

MANCHESTER UNITED have been backed by a supercomputer for a big improvement despite the defeat to Man City.

The Red Devils were outclassed in the Manchester derby on Sunday as they were well beaten 3-0 at the Etihad.

Phil Foden nodded in the opener before Erling Haaland bagged a second-half brace to round off the scoring.

The result has left United slumped down in 14th in the Premier League table.

Under Ruben Amorim, this campaign, the club have only won one of four league fixtures.

It is the club’s worst start to a Prem season since 1992/93 when Sir Alex Ferguson managed to lead them to the title.

However, the Aceodds’ supercomputer is expecting United to turn things around and climb up the table.

It is backing the club to finish the season in 8th place which would be a big improvement from the 15th place last term.

United finished the 2024/25 campaign with just 42 points, one less than West Ham.

The supercomputer is expecting the club to accumulate 57 points this season with 16 wins.

Arsenal made it back-to-back wins as they beat Nottingham Forest on Saturday.

The Gunners were powered to victory by a fantastic brace from summer-signing Martin Zubimendi and a goal from Viktor Gyokeres.

Man City’s manger Pep Guardiola celebrates 3-0 home win against Man Utd

The result has put Mikel Arteta’s side second in the table behind only Liverpool – who have so far been perfect this season.

The Reds are four wins from four as Mohamed Salah’s late penalty was enough to earn three points against Burnley at Turf Moor.

The supercomputer believes this is how the top two will remain until the end of the season.

This would mean a fourth year in a row of second-place finishes for the Gunners.

Despite the Manchester derby victory, Pep Guardiola’s side have only been backed to finish third.

This would mean the Cityzens have finished outside of the top two for consecutive years for the first time since the 2015/16 and 2016/17 seasons.
