Fiery moment Real Madrid wonderkid Arda Guler shoves Barcelona rival Lamine Yamal during Spain’s demolition of Turkey

REAL MADRID wonderkid Arda Guler was caught on camera shoving Barcelona rival Lamine Yamal during Spain’s dominant 6-0 win over Turkey.

The clash happened during the second half of the World Cup qualifier in Konya where Spain ran riot with a ruthless attacking display.

Mikel Merino scored a memorable hat-trick, Pedri netted twice and Ferran Torres added a sixth but it was the heated moment between the two young stars that got fans talking.

Guler, 20, looked visibly frustrated as Spain continued to pick apart the Turkish defence.

Eager to take a free-kick quickly to help his side get back into the game, he was blocked by Yamal, who stood in front of the ball to delay the restart.

The 18-year-old Barcelona winger refused to move, prompting an exchange of words before Guler gave him a light shove to the chest.

Though no cards were issued and the incident didn’t escalate, the gesture sparked a wave of reaction online, with many fans pointing to the underlying tension between the two La Liga rivals, even while wearing their respective national shirts.

Both Real Madrid and Barcelona supporters were quick to respond on social media.

One fan wrote: “You can take them out of El Clasico but you can’t take El Clasico out of them.”

Another joked: “Yamal lives rent-free in Arda Guler’s head already. And he’s only 18.”

Others defended Guler, who was one of the few Turkish players showing visible frustration and fight in a difficult night for the hosts.

One Turkish supporter posted: “It was a tough night. At least Arda showed he cares. He’s got fire, and we’ll need it going forward.”

Yamal, for his part, appeared unfazed and continued playing with confidence until he was subbed off for Alvaro Morata in the 73rd minute.

Ahead of the game, Guler had been respectful when asked about comparisons with Yamal.

He said: “We don’t play the same role. I wish him the best.”

But the emotional weight of a one-sided scoreline clearly brought a moment of frustration to the surface.

Spain coach Luis de la Fuente will be delighted with his team’s output.

Their performance has placed them firmly among the favourites to win the World Cup next year.

It was a night to remember for Spain, their fluid movement and clinical finishing left Turkey helpless, with Merino’s hat-trick the standout performance.

Pedri’s brace only underlined the depth of talent in Spain’s midfield, while Yamal once again showed why Barcelona fans are so excited about his future.

For Turkey, it was a humbling night, but Guler was one of the few who tried to make things happen. He pressed, tracked back and attempted to create chances, even as his team collapsed around him.

Yamal and Guler won’t have to wait long to face off again. Real Madrid host Barcelona in La Liga later this year and after Saturday’s confrontation, the build-up to that fixture may have just become a lot more interesting.

Meanwhile Yamal reportedly lost his passport after the game and was caught on camera looking for it which delayed Spain’s travel to the airport.
