Cristiano Ronaldo forced to shove fan away as he tries to get selfie with Portugal and Man Utd legend at team hotel

CRISTIANO RONALDO was forced to shove a fan away as he tried to get a selfie with the Portugal star.

The Manchester United legend was walking through the Portuguese team hotel when the supporter approached him.

The fan could be seen trying to take a selfie with Ronaldo before the ace shoved him away.

The forward continued to walk away and took a sip of his drink as he made his way through the hotel.

Ronaldo, 40, then made his way out of the building in front of a crowd of screaming fans.

The Al-Nassr captain is often mobbed by fans, whether he is on the pitch or not, due to his superstar status.

He usually shows plenty of compassion to pitch invaders and even poses for pictures before they are escorted off the field.

The incident happened on Friday, the day before Portugal took on Armenia in their World Cup qualifiers.

Ronaldo made his 222nd appearance for his nation in the 5-0 win at the Vazgen Sargsyan Republican Stadium.

He marked the game with two goals, including an incredible strike from outside the box in the 46th minute.

His first goal of the game came in the 21st minute – the same number that Diogo Jota wore for Portugal.

The No21 is now worn by Ronaldo’s team-mate Ruben Neves, who took the jersey in honour of Jota.

Jota tragically died in July after a horror car crash as he drove through Zamora, Spain.

Neves and Jota were close friends during their time at Wolverhampton Wanderers.

The pair were both a part of the Wolves squad that won promotion to the Premier League in 2018.

Neves has also paid tribute to Jota with a tattoo of them hugging on his leg.

Joao Cancelo also paid tribute to Jota as he marked his goal by doing the former Liverpool star’s iconic video game celebration.

Former Arsenal star Nuno Tavares spoke after the game and insisted that Jota was with them in spirit.

He said: “We’re all very happy because it shows he’s [Jota] with us, that he was there, and that moment, Ronaldo’s goal, was made possible.

“He’ll always be with us, as was clear today.”

Ronaldo’s brace has taken him to a stunning 140 goals for Portugal and extends his lead as the most prolific international goalscorer of all time.

It also took him to 38 goals in World Cup qualifiers, putting him clear of Lionel Messi on 36.

He is still one behind all-time record holder Carlos Ruiz, who netted 39 for Guatemala.
